Limekiln Books seeks to publish and promote works of academic, literary, and religious excellence. The publishing company hopes to sidestep the blockades often erected by commercial concerns and preconceptions that block the expression of so much that is written. Limekiln is still in its infancy and thus can be an outlet only for those who can provide the necessary funds for publication. A limekiln crushes and fires limestone in order to provide a useful substance for mankind. Writers similarly enage with the world of their experience and knowledge. That world is subjected to the fire that processes those into thoughtful and creative works. Having been started in 2004, Limekiln Books is still in its formative stages. As yet, Limekiln Books has only begun to organize publications and seek out markets. It has not yet established firm criteria for accepting manuscripts or evaluating them for possible publication. As of this moment, the only books it is advertising are those by Art Seamans. This is obviously a one-horse-show right now, but several of us are dreaming about making it a useful channel for worthwhile writing.
