Having grown up in Upstate New York, Art Seamans studied literature at Eastern Nazarene College, Boston University, and the University of Maryland. He began teaching at several preparatory schools in the east. Currently he resides in San Diego where he is professor emeritus of literature at Point Loma Nazarene University. In addition to his hobbies of reading, participating in discussion, and swimming, he keeps up his academic interests as a member of the Tamarack Writers Group, which meets each summer in the Adirondack Mountains. He also continues traveling to literary haunts in Europe with friends and students.
